Assistant County Attorney:  Full-time position available with the Cerro Gordo County Attorney’s Office.  Primary duties are devoted to criminal prosecution and juvenile cases.  Juris Doctor degree or equivalent and license to practice law in the State of Iowa.  Prior experience as a prosecutor is preferred.  Resumes will not be accepted without an application.

Jackson County Attorney's Office- posted 8/18/08

Jackson County has an opening for a full time assistant county attorney.  The opening becomes available September 2, 2008 and carries with it a salary range of $35,000 – $40,000, depending on experience.  Duties include the prosecution of simple misdemeanors, indictable misdemeanors and some felony cases.  The assistant will also aid in the child in need of assistance and juvenile delinquency case work.  Experience preferred but not required.  Applicants must be currently licensed to practice law in the State of Iowa.  Applicants who sat for the July Bar Exam will also be considered.

Washington County Attorney's Office- posted 8/12/08

Washington County has a position available for an assistant county attorney.  Salary $35,000-$40,000, depending on experience.  Duties include prosecution of simple misdemeanors, indictable misdemeanors, child in need of assistance and juvenile delinquency cases, and some felony cases.  The assistant will also be assigned some of the county’s civil work as well.  The office consists of the county attorney and an assistant county attorney, and this position will be the second assistant county attorney.  Experience preferred but not required.   Applicants must be currently licensed to practice law in the State of Iowa.  Applicants who have taken the July bar will also be considered.
